What documents are supported?

Only government-issued identification is acceptable.

The following government-issued document types have been tested successfully:

• US State Driver License, Learner Permit, Commercial Driver's License.
• US State Identity Cards.
• Passports & Passport Cards from most western countries (US, UK, EU, AUS, ...)
  • Additionally, passports and passport cards from all countries with an unredacted MRZ (the text with a bunch of '<<<' characters) should also work. If the MRZ text is on the back side, you can submit just the back side of the document.
• National Identity Cards from most western countries (US, UK, EU, AUS...)
• US Resident Alien Card (but only the back side that contains the MRZ (the text with a bunch of '<<<' characters). Front side is not supported currently.)

Common reasons for verification failure

• Blurry picture
• Poor lighting
• Covered up or redacted important areas like:
  • Document type
  • Issuing authority
  • Expiry date
  • Birth date
  MRZ (the text with a bunch of '<<<' characters) is not required, but can help.
• Document is expired
• User not yet 18.
• Unknown document type / issuing authority.
• Forgery/fraudulent document detected.
